Everyone who has played Evony has heard of iEvony or even used it. But what does iEvony really do? According to some players, this program enables you to earn game coins every time a referral is made. This seems to have captured the eyes of the players which is why many of them are using this program. But because it is still in beta stage, a player is required to enter a code before downloading the program and installing it. Only a number of players are given the code, and once they have it, the code can be given to other players to be reused, but as far as I know, the code has a limited number of players that can use it. BUT there is a downside in using this program, although it has not yet been proven, some say that it is causing all those ‘porn’ looking ads about evony all over the net. And I’ve heard that a lot of web owners are getting pissed off about this coz of the unsightly ads. Though I’m not really claiming it to be true, it’s better to be safe than having an annoying ‘adware’ in your pc.

Going back at the previous post, I’ve already mentioned about some points to remember when signing up and choosing the best server for your gaming experience. Now after selecting your ideal server, you will now proceed in entering the game. At first, it will take a while for it to load but the succeeding ones will be quicker. Now for the game interface, for a newbie like I was, I really got confused on how to play the game since it was my first time to play a browser-based multiplayer game, and it even came to a point that I temporarily quit playing coz I really didn’t know what to do and found it to be a bit boring at first. But then my uncle persuaded me to try playing it again and so I did, (with his assistance) and finally I got to know the game and leveled up from being a total NEWBIE into an ADVANCED player (is there even such a thing?).

The image below shows the Quest window which will guide you through the game in order to be familiar with it. By doing the quests you will receive a reward to help you in building up your city. Logging in everyday into the game also gives you a reward such as the Aries Amulet which enables you to have a random item from the wheel of fortune located at the lower left part of the window.

In the first 7 days of your city, you are given a Beginners Protection in which you can neither attack other cities or be attacked by other players. While under the 7 day protection period, it will be a good chance to build up your defenses and to train your army so that you will be ready for a defense and an attack.

Well in my previous post I wrote about the introduction regarding the game Evony online which by the way is a Free forever game, meaning you won’t have to spend a dime in order to play the game, but of course you can buy items that can give you a boost in the game. Well anyway, let’s go back to the topic, after signing up in Evony, you’ll be taken in the mainpage of the game where you can view your account details and read about the latest updates and promos, and at the lower right part of the page you will need to select the server in which you would like in order to enter, and as of now there are 73 servers. For newbies it is suggested to enter in the most latest server (server 73 as of now) because the players there are also new therefore there will be less ‘bullying’ that can occur which is really a BIG pain in the butt. You will all develop in the same pace, but in a different pace with those players who are HIGHLY active.

Note: Once you choose a certain server… like for example server 60 (as shown in the image) you can only play in that server, meaning your city can only be accessed in server 60. If you choose you to enter in a different server, you would need to start a new city all over again.

Evony is one of the fast growing online game at this time, and although it is a browser-based game which was kinda similar to sims city (I don’t know if you guys still remember that), civilization, and Travian (also a browser-based game) its really a very addictive game. I’m sure some of you are already quite familiar with this game and especially its pros and cons. Since I’m still a newbie myself in the game, I’ll just give you guys a brief intro about it for those who aren’t familiar with it and is planning to join this game. So first of… Signing Up. It’s really easy to sign up for the game, it only requires you to have a valid email address, a username, a password and of course your gender (for the game).

After searching the web for a useful tutorial site for Adobe AE, I managed to round of 3 of the best(for now). First one is layersmagazine.com you can view lots of step-by-step tutorials here, and what’s good about it is that they have made it easy to understand with visual guides so you won’t get lost in the process. Second one is creativeCow.com, although it may sound far from teaching you After Effects they offer a wide range of cool tutorials which I’m sure that you can find interesting. And the third one, and probably the best one is video copilot, this site contains several of the BEST effects you can do with Adobe After Effects, you can watch their videos on how they create those amazing effects while staying as simple as possible so that anyone can understand the tutorials. I personally prefer using the last tutorial site, because so far, I’ve been able to find what I needed for making my short photo movie. Which hopefully I can finish in 2 months or so.

To those who are interested in video editing with cool visual effects, I suggest that you guys try using the Adobe AfterEffects for your video editing skills. But with great effects comes great need for a tutorial off the web. And seriously, using Adobe AE isn’t as easy as it looks for newbie video makers. But for some who have already used similar softwares they could adapt to the AE environment much faster. But for the newbies don’t worry too much because it just needs a lot of patience, creativity, and determination to learn AE in order to be accustomed with the software. As for the online tutorials, there are numerous sites that provide step by step lessons and sometimes you can view these as videos. Just search it on google or yahoo. For the videos, you can find some at youtube. I’ll try to find a good tutorial site and post it some time soon. Good luck!
